Hi! My name is Gill. I am married with two children, aged 24 and 16. I have had dogs all my life and they are my absolute favourite!

My love of dogs and other animals led me to enrol on a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Care when I left school.

During college, I completed a variety of work experience placements, including several months at the police dog headquarters, several months at an equine riding school, and a year at a local veterinary practice.

After finishing college, I worked abroad for six months. When I returned home, I worked in a local pet shop.

Life then took me in a different direction for a while. I went back to education and completed an LLB Law degree before running my own drainage materials business for several years. However, I never lost my passion for working with animals.

When I left the drainage industry, I finally decided to follow that passion and set up Pookys.

Looking after animals and helping owners have peace of mind is something I genuinely love, and I feel very lucky to do it every day.
